Irish firm may have struck biggest oil lake in US history
AN Irish company has struck oil in Nevada in what could be the biggest find of its type in US history.
Dublin-based US Oil and Gas has been using what have been described as "groundbreaking" techniques to discover the commodity in Nevada.
Its first major drilling project, in Hot Creek Valley, has created widespread excitement, with Las Vegas TV station 8NewsNow suggesting the valley is sitting on an oil lake to rival anything the US has seen.
Early reports suggest one of the wells could generate 187 million barrels of oil.
