Fed's Fisher: Easing not a done deal - report - MarketWatch
The Federal Reserve has not reached any agreement to launch a new round
of stimulus, Dallas Federal Reserve Bank President Richard Fisher said
Tuesday in an interview with Reuters. "In terms of further easing,
nothing has been decided," Fisher said. Some Fed watchers interpreted
the minutes of the Fed's August meeting to indicate that the only thing
that had not been decided was when the Fed would ease, and not if they
would act. Fisher, who is not a voting member of the Fed's interest-rate
setting committee this year, has come out against further easing.
Fisher said markets are addicted to monetary easing and the Fed should
not oblige them
