U.S. Envoy to Libya Killed as Protests Flare in North Africa - Bloomberg

The U.S. ambassador to Libya was killed in an attack on the consulate in Benghazi amid protests in the north African country and neighboring Egypt over a film about the Prophet Muhammad viewed as blasphemous by Muslims.
Three other U.S. personnel were also killed in the attack that claimed the life of Ambassador Chris Stevens, President Barack Obama said in a statement released by the White House, saying the envoy had “selflessly served our country and the Libyan people.” On his Twitter account, Libya’s Deputy Prime Minister Mustafa Abu Shagur condemned the “cowardly and criminal” attack.
