Fed expert worries about asset bubbles and missed signals as he gets set to retire. - The Tell - MarketWatch
After 26 years of watching the Federal Reserve, David Resler, chief economist at Nomura Securities, is getting set to retire.
Resler’s career covering the Fed for Nomura spans two decades of
rapid change from having to infer the Fed’s policy moves by examining
arcane day-to-day changes in the Fed’s open market operations to parsing
statements that the now central bank issues to the market.
Perhaps as an homage to the Fed’s steady move to greater transparency, Resler sent out a note Thursday clearly
listing two nagging concerns about the Fed’s innovative quantitative
easing policy that he generally thinks has been successful.
