ECB keeps main lending rate unchanged at 0.5%

The European Central Bank kept its main lending rate at a record low 0.5% at the conclusion of its meeting on Thursday. Last month, the ECB cut that rate by a quarter point from 0.75%. The ECB left its deposit rate, which it pays banks on reserves held at the central bank, at zero. ECB President Mario Draghi will hold a press conference that begins at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
