The Federal Reserve should begin tapering its $85 billion bond-buying
plan very soon with an eye toward ending it by the end of this year,
said Charles Plosser, the president of the Philadelphia Fed Bank, on
Friday. "That would be a healthy thing for the economy. We can do it
gradually," Plosser said in an interview with Bloomberg News. "We don't
want to create another housing boom and we have to be careful of the
unintended consequences of our policies," Plosser said. The Philadelphia
Fed president has never supported this round of asset purchases. He is
not a voting member of the Fed's policy-making committee this year.
Plosser will be speaking later Friday at a conference in Jackson Hole,
Wy.
Umm ok sure...
