Candidate for New York comptroller Davis arrested
Former madam and candidate for New York City Comptroller Kristin Davis
has been arrested on charges of selling prescription pills containing
controlled substances, including oxycodone, for cash by the U.S Attorney
for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday. The 38-year-old
candidate is accused of selling hundreds of prescription pills
containing amphetamine, alprazolam, zolpidem, and carisoprodol as
recently as April of this year. Davis is charged with four counts of
distributing and possessing with intent to distribute a controlled
substance with each count carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years in
prison. The former madam alleges she supplied the former governor and
current comptroller candidate Eliot Spitzer with prostitutes while she
was running an escort service, which landed her in prison for three
months. Davis is expected to appear in Manhattan federal court before a
judge on Tuesday afternoon.
