SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Warren Buffett said Thursday he wishes Ben Bernankewould be allowed to remain as chairman of the Federal Reserve. In an interview on CNBC, Buffett said Bernanke has done "a terrific job" since the financial panic of five years ago. "I would not trade him away," Buffett said, adding that Bernanke "ought to be given a chance to play the whole game." Asked if he had a second choice for Fed chairman, Buffett said no, and that he didn't know Vice Chairwoman Janet Yellen at all. President Obama indicated earlier this year that Bernanke didn't want to be renominated as Fed chairman. Buffett is the chairman of Berkshire Hathaway BRK.A +0.47% BRK.B +0.40% .
