Of 6,037,394 Form 4473 applications in 2010 72,659 were denied because: 47% were felons or under indictment; 19% because they were fugitives; 11% under State law. A total of 62 charges were referred by field offices for consideration by prosecutors -- less than one tenth of one percent.

That means the people illegally selling or transporting guns are almost never being charged under the firearms statutes.
But democrats still clamber for more gun control laws.
