Antioch students tear down flag, brawl during 'peaceful' protest
Across the nation, students walked of their classrooms at 10 a.m. and
gathered for 17 minutes of silence to honor each person killed at
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last month.
Antioch High parent Joseph Reed says he's discouraged by Wednesday's events.
"What
this was supposed to be is a memorial to the 17 kids who lost their
lives in Parkland and I just can't believe those 17 kids. if they could
look at the situation today an Antioch High School, that they would be
okay with violent behavior," said Reed.
Reed says he had a conversation with his two songs before the walkout.
"My sons know they can protest anything they feel passionate about, but they also know to do it peacefully," said Reed.
