The Supreme Court of the United States has rejected World Bank claims
of complete legal immunity, ruling that one of its arms can be sued in
relation to lending activities.
The 7-1 ruling could also open other American-based international
organizations to the threat of lawsuits over financing overseas
development.
For the World Bank, it means that it now faces having to defend
against a suit by members of a fishing community in Mundra, India, who
contend that their homes and livelihoods were damaged by pollution from
a coal power plant that was financed by the bank’s private sector lending arm, the Washington, D.C.-based International Finance Corporation.

Oregonians should not be required to prove they are U.S. citizens or legal residents to drive a car.
That’s
the premise behind a bill filed in Salem this week by a bipartisan
group of state lawmakers. If passed opens the door for non-citizens to
obtain legal Oregon driver’s licenses, learner’s permits or general
identification cards. It wouldn’t apply to commercial driver’s licenses.
The
Equal Access to Roads Act would amend state law to allow drivers to
submit a statement saying they have "not been assigned a Social Security
number” instead of producing documents proving U.S. citizenship or
legal residency. Qualified applicants would still have to pass a
driver’s test and show they live in Oregon. The bill would not apply to
learner’s permits or commercial driver’s licenses.
Amy and I have made a decision about how we can best
serve our country," he said in an exclusive statement to The Dallas
Morning News. "We are excited to share it with everyone soon."
O'Rourke has been weighing how to "best serve his country" (as well
as his own political interests) since gaining national prominence during
a senate bid that nearly unseated Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. Though Beto
ultimately lost, he finished with a staggering fundraising haul of $80
million.
One recent Des Moines Register poll showed O'Rourke trailing only
former Vice President Joe Biden - who is also expected to run - and
Sanders for the nomination, though other candidates, like California's
former "top cop" Kamala Harris, are beginning to pick up steam.
O'Rourke has kept an unusually low media profile since losing his
race against Cruz, though he did appear alongside Oprah Winfrey on Feb. 5
for a discussion about his "future," where he said "I've been thinking
about running for president."
"We want to play as great a role as possible making sure that this country lives up to our expectations,
to the promise, to the potential that we all know her to have," he told
Winfrey in front of an audience in New York City's Times Square.
Beto O’Rourke lied in his first debate about his drunken driving crash
O’Rourke is, of course, referring to his 1998 drunken driving accident
in which he is said to have “struck a truck traveling the same
direction,” hopped his car over the grassy center median before coming
to a stop, and then tried to flee the scene of the crime.
And yes, he did try to flee.

House Democrats scheduled a subcommittee hearing on climate change. Not enough of them showed up to outvote the Republicans.@replouiegohmert called to adjourn the meeting. The motion succeeded (4-2).
Proof of CNN manipulating the truth from its audiences.
Watch out for this carefully because propaganda will become stronger as we get closer to 2020!
Don’t forget media itself is propaganda as Zizek would say.
The Senate on Tuesday confirmed President Trump's nominee to be a judge on the liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals
in a party-line vote -- and, in a historic snub, the White
House ignored the input of the judge's two Democratic home-state
senators in the process.
The aggressive and
unprecedented move to bypass the traditional "blue slip" consultation
process and plow ahead with the confirmation comes as the Trump
administration seeks to systematically erode left-wing dominance on the
key appellate court, which Trump has called "disgraceful" and politically biased.
With a
sprawling purview representing nine Western states, the appellate court
has long been a thorn in the side of the Trump White House, with
rulings against his travel ban policy and limits on funding to
"sanctuary cities." A lawsuit is currently pending before the 9th Circuit concerning Trump's emergency declaration over border security -- and Trump had sarcastically predicted that Democrats would purposefully file suit in the San Francisco-based appellate court to improve their odds.
The United States Public Interest Research Group has released a
report showing that some of this country's most popular beers and wines
contain small amounts of the weed killer glyphosate, also known as
"Roundup."
The consumer group says it tested 20
alcoholic beverages, including Budweiser, Coors, and Sutter Home, and 19
of them showed traces of the herbicide. Many brewers say they are
against the use of the chemical, and point out that the amounts of
Roundup found in their products are well-below EPA limits. The U.S. PIRG says the findings are not necessarily dangerous, but are still concerning given the potential health risks. The Beer Institute responded to USA TODAY
saying, "Our members work with farmers who go to great lengths to raise
their crops sustainably and safely and the results of the most recent
federal testing showed farmers' use of glyphosate falls well below
federal limits." "An adult would have to drink more than 140
glasses of wine a day containing the highest glyphosate level measured
just to reach the level that California's Office of Environmental Health
Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has identified as 'No Significant Risk
Level,'" wrote a spokesperson for the Wine Institute in a statement to
USA TODAY.

The White House made clear Monday that if the House Democrats’ push
to criminalize private gun sales somehow reached the president’s desk,
it would be vetoed.
On Monday, Breitbart News reported
that the Democrats plan to vote this week on H.R.8, the legislation
criminalizing private gun sales. H.R.8 would not have stopped a single
mass shooter from the last decade, but it would criminalize a friend who
sells a gun to a lifelong friend without first getting government
permission.
Bloomberg News’ Sahil Kapur reports
that the White House released a “Statement of Administration Policy,”
making clear the White House opposes the Democrat gun control push.
Ocasio-Cortez, a former bartender-turned-progressive
pacesetter, literally ducked questions about her residence after an
appearance Saturday in Queens. She told The Post to wait for her to pose
for a photograph — then slipped out a back door and into a waiting SUV.
Ocasio-Cortez previously claimed that she has lived since 2011 in a
mortgage-free, fourth-floor condo in Parkchester, which according to
records was bought by her late dad, Sergio Ocasio, who died in 2008.
Spokesman for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tells DailyMail.com she lives in Bronx
•He says she moved from the apartment last month to live with her boyfriend
•She now lives in a two-bedroom apartment ‘one and a half blocks away’
•Report on Saturday questioned where the freshman congresswoman lives
•Neighbors have never met her and mailman says letters pile up for months
•Nearby taqueria says she has only ever come in to be filmed by news crews
• But AOC spokesman insists she has lived in family’s Parkchester condo for years
Democratic socialist ideas appear to be making significant headway in the party. The Democratic part
is fine, the socialism part is not. It suggests a massive government
intrusion in the economy that has not worked elsewhere — post-war Great
Britain or that contemporary mess called Venezuela — and that, in a
cultural sense, is un-American. Time and time again, the American people
have shown they want nothing to do with socialism. While socialist
movements have at times been politically strong in Europe, such has not
been the case in America. This, in fact, is one of the original meanings
of the phrase “American exceptionalism.”
CBP Officers Seize Nearly $6.1M Worth of Hard Drugs
Release Date:
February 25, 2019
TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the
Port of Nogales seized more than 349 pounds of heroin, methamphetamine,
cocaine and suspected fentanyl on Saturday from three separate significant drug seizures.
CBP Officers at the Dennis DeConcini Crossing referred a 67-year-old
Rio Rico, Arizona man for a further inspection of his Jeep SUV when he
attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico on Saturday morning. Following
an alert by a CBP narcotics detection canine, CBP officers seized hard
drugs from throughout the vehicle. They seized nearly 21 pounds of
heroin, worth an estimated value of almost $560,000. They also seized
103 pounds of cocaine, worth nearly $2.5M; 116 pounds of
methamphetamine, worth over $347,000 and 1.5 pounds of suspected
fentanyl, worth almost $20,000.
By a vote of 53-44, the Senate has failed to pass the Born-Alive
Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would have required doctors to
provide medical care to infants born alive after an attempted abortion
procedure. The bill — sponsored by Senator Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) and
cosponsored by 49 of his fellow Republican senators — needed 60 votes to
overcome the legislative filibuster.
Just three Democratic senators crossed the aisle to vote with
Republicans in favor of the legislation: Bob Casey Jr. (Pa.), Joe
Manchin (W.Va.), and Doug Jones (Ala.).
All six of the Democratic senators currently running for the 2020
presidential nomination voted against the bill: Cory Booker (N.J.),
Sherrod Brown (Ohio), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Kamala Harris (Calif.),
Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), along with
Independent Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
Americans use more toilet paper
than anyone else in the world, helping destroy the habitats of native

U.S. consumers use roughly three rolls of toilet paper a week,

The so-called Green New Deal may tally between $51 trillion and $93 trillion over 10-years, concludes the
Republican-aligned American Action Forum, which is run by Douglas
Holtz-Eakin, who directed the non-partisan CBO from from 2003 to 2005.
That includes between $8.3 trillion and $12.3 trillion to meet the
plan’s call to eliminate carbon emissions from the power and
transportation sectors and between $42.8 trillion and $80.6 trillion for
its economic agenda including providing jobs and health care for all. "The Green New Deal is clearly very expensive," the
group said in its analysis. "It’s further expansion of the federal
government’s role in some of the most basic decisions of daily life,
however, would likely have a more lasting and damaging impact than its

Federal prosecutors, under former Miami U.S. Attorney Alex
Acosta, broke the law when they concealed a plea agreement from more
than 30 underage victims who had been sexually abused by wealthy New
York hedge fund manager Jeffrey Epstein, a federal judge ruled Thursday.
While the decision marks a victory for crime victims, the federal
judge, Kenneth A. Marra, stopped short of overturning Epstein’s plea
deal, or issuing an order resolving the case. He instead gave federal
prosecutors 15 days to confer with Epstein’s victims and their attorneys
to come up with a settlement. The victims did not seek money or damages
as part of the suit.
It’s not clear whether the victims, now in their late 20s and early
30s, can, as part of the settlement, demand that the government
prosecute Epstein. But others are calling on the Justice Department to
take a new look at the case in the wake of the judge’s ruling. “As a legal matter, the non-prosecution agreement entered
into by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida
does not bind other U.S. Attorneys in other districts. They are free, if
they conclude it is appropriate to do so, to bring criminal actions
against Mr. Epstein and his co-conspirators,’’ said lawyer David Boies,
representing two of Epstein’s victims who claim they were trafficked by
Epstein in New York and other areas of the country.
The resolution sponsored by Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) had 222 cosponsors.
The measure is expected to pass the Democratic-held House, but will need to win GOP support to get through the Senate. -The Hill

Where were the Dems? Oh ya right up Obama ass kissing it...
As Breitbart's John Carney notes - the whole plan is absurd; not because the price tag is so expensive, but because it's way too cheap.
Start with the basics. There are around four million babies born in
the U.S. every year. That means there are approximately 20 million
children under school age who could be enrolled in a national childcare
program. Moody’s Analytics Chief Economist Mark Zandi and Sophia Koropeckyj, the economists behind Warren’s figures, estimate that the cost of each child in the Warren Centers—or Baby Warrens, as we would inevitably call them–would be $14,500. -Breitbart

On August 24, 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower signed legislation outlawing the Communist Party of the United States. The Communist Control Act was passed by Congress in response to the growing anti communist feelings in the United States. Though full of ominous language, many found the purpose of the act unclear.
President Trump declared a national emergency
to free up funds to build a wall without congressional approval on
Friday, adding that other presidents have called national emergencies on
other topics "many times before." The National Emergencies Act of 1975 allows the president to declare a national emergency, but he must outline the specific emergency powers he is using under existing statutes.
According to the Brennan Center,
there have been 58 national emergencies called by presidents since
1979. Thirty-one of those national emergencies are still in effect. Here is a list of when national emergencies have been used, and what their purpose was:

One year and two months. That’s how long it’s been since a formal

Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign orchestrated an $84 million campaign finance scandal — the largest in U.S. history.
Yet the FEC has done nothing to hold the Clinton campaign,

The idea that climate change is producing heat records across the
Earth is among the most egregious manipulations of data in the absurd
global warming debate.
Americans receive a daily barrage from the fake news media and
climate “experts” reporting that each and every day, week, month or year
is the hottest on record due to global warming. On Feb. 7, several
major newspapers carried stories of the declaration by NASA and NOAA
that the past five years have been the warmest on record. Sadly, these
supposed experts use mathematical equations that do not jive with
reality over the past 140 years.
The same climate experts warn that record heat is just the tip of the
iceberg. We are constantly told that global warming is the root cause
behind any and all weather events that are extreme, destructive, unusual
or uncomfortable. Many of these fear mongers also say we should stop
burning fossil fuels that are causing this mayhem.
Other USSC Justices were highly critical of property seizures and
fines, with Justice Clarence Thomas suggesting that civil forfeitures
had become "widespread and highly profitable."
“This system — where police can seize property with limited judicial
oversight and retain it for their own use — has led to egregious and
well-chronicled abuses,” Thomas wrote, referring to reporting by The
Washington Post and the New Yorker.

In a statement to D.C. police given Tuesday, senator and presidential
candidate Elizabeth Warren claimed that two men in colonial outfits
accosted her on the street and assaulted her with smallpox-infected
blankets.
Warren
claimed she was simply on her evening walk with her favorite peyote
blend when the two men leaped out of the bushes, fired a round, spent
several minutes reloading their muzzle-loading rifles, fired again, and
then hollered "battle cries" as they hurled smallpox-infested blankets
at her. "The men fired muskets at me, threw several blankets
infested with smallpox in my general direction, and told me this was
colonial country," she said, holding back tears. "They told me to go
back to my reservation and that I wasn't welcome here."

It has been three weeks since the Houston police department
fabricated information which led to a no-knock raid on an innocent
couple’s home. The botched raid left and innocent husband, an innocent
wife, and their dog—all murdered—as well as four cops shot. Now, in a
move TFTP has never seen, the Houston police department is claiming they
are taking steps to prevent future scenarios like this from happening—by ceasing the use of no-knock raids.
“The no-knock warrants are going to go away like leaded gasoline in this city,” Chief Art Acevedo said during a heated town hall meeting on Monday.
“I’m 99.9 percent sure we won’t be using them,” he continued. “If for some reason there would be a specific case, that would come from my office.”
As TFTP reported over the weekend, after controversy and rumors have swarmed the case, the Houston police department has admitted that the entire raid was based on the lies of one of their own.

Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris appeared
to be caught off guard Monday when she was asked about the latest
developments in the alleged attack on “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett.
During
an appearance at a bookstore in Concord, N.H., a female reporter asked
the senator from California if she wanted to amend a tweet from Jan. 29,
in which she said Smollett was the victim of “an attempted modern day
lynching” and called the actor “one of the kindest, most gentle human
beings I know.” Harris has also used the Smollett attack to push
legislation that would make lynching a federal hate crime.

“Empire” star Jussie Smollett was so irked that a racist threat letter he says was sent to him didn’t spark public outrage that he hired two men to stage a hate attack on him, according to reports Monday.
Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the investigation pointed
to the letter as a potential motive in the actor-singer’s increasingly
baffling case, CBS’ Chicago affiliate reported.
Via Chicago Sun-Times, on last week's mass shooting in Aurora, Illinois:
Court records show Martin was
convicted of aggravated assault in the stabbing of a woman in
Mississippi in 1995. He’d also been arrested six times previously by
Aurora police, most recently in 2008 for violating an order of
protection, Ziman revealed Saturday.
Ziman said the assault conviction
might not have appeared on a criminal background check when Martin
applied and was approved in January 2014 for a Firearm Owners
Identification card.
In March of that year, Martin applied to buy a handgun from an Aurora gun dealer, and he was approved within five days.
Five days after that, Martin applied
for a concealed carry permit. When Martin’s felony conviction was
discovered during the background check for that license, his application
was denied and his FOID card was revoked.
However, his Smith & Wesson handgun — the same weapon used in Friday’s shooting — was never confiscated.
More background checks aren't the answer.
How 'bout we get a government that will effectively use laws already on the books?
Liberal actor Jussie Smollett is accused of staging a racist and
anti-gay attack on himself, which Smollett blamed on supporters of
President Donald Trump.
Smollett’s allegedfake “hate crime” appears to be the latest instance of liberals manufacturing hate crimes for attention in the Trump era.
The
Daily Caller News Foundation compiled below some of the most outrageous
fake hate crimes since Trump was elected, in rough chronological order:
Judicial Watch announced today it received 215 pages
of records from the U.S. Department of Justice revealing former FBI
General Counsel James Baker discussed the investigation of
Clinton-related emails on Anthony Weiner’s laptop with Clinton’s lawyer,
David Kendall. Baker then forwarded the conversation to his FBI
colleagues.
The documents also further describe a previously reported quid pro quo
from the Obama State Department offering the FBI more legal attaché
positions if it would downgrade a redaction in an email found during the
Hillary Clinton email investigation “from classified to something
else.”
The newly obtained emails came in response to a May 21 order in a January 2018 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed after the DOJ failed to respond to a December 4, 2017 FOIA request (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-00154)). Judicial Watch seeks:

The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the '60s. To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale. It has been a war they've fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery and lies from day one and the violent take-over of the universities till today.
The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety. With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America 's first wartime president in the Culture War.
During wartime, things like "dignity" and "collegiality" simply aren't the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming.
Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today. Lincoln rightly recognized that, "I cannot spare this man. He fights . .."
General George Patton was a vulgar-talking, son-of-a-bitch. In peacetime, this might have seen him stripped of rank. But, had Franklin Roosevelt applied the normal rules of decorum then, Hitler and the Socialists would be five decades into their thousand-year Reich.
Trump is fighting.
And what's particularly delicious is that, like Patton standing over the battlefield as his tanks obliterated Rommel's, he's shouting, "You magnificent bastard, I read your book!" That is just the icing on the cake, but it's wonderful to see that not only is Trump fighting, but he's defeating the Left using their own tactics and that's what they really hate.
That book is Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals a book so essential to the Liberals' war against America that it is and was the playbook for the entire Obama administration and the subject of Hillary Clinton's senior thesis.
It is a book of such pure evil, that, just as the rest of us would dedicate our book to those we most love or those to whom we are most indebted.
Trump's tweets may seem rash and unconsidered but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do. First, instead of going after "the fake media"-- and they are so fake that they have literally gotten every single significant story of the past 60 years not just wrong, but diametrically opposed to the truth, from the Tet Offensive to Benghazi, to what really happened on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri, Trump isolated CNN. He made it personal.
Then, just as Alinsky suggests, he employs ridicule which Alinsky described as "the most powerful weapon of all" ... Most importantly, Trump's tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position. .. They need to respond. This leaves them with only two choices. They can either "go high" (as Hillary would disingenuously declare of herself and the fake news would disingenuously report as the truth) and begin to honestly and accurately report the news or they can double-down on their usual tactics and hope to defeat Trump with twice their usual hysteria and demagoguery. The problem for CNN (et al) with the former is that, if they were to start honestly reporting the news, that would be the end of the Democratic Party they serve.
It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news (read: propaganda) that keeps the Left alive. Imagine, for example, if CNN had honestly and accurately reported then-candidate Barack Obama's close ties to foreign terrorists (Rashid Khalidi), domestic terrorists (William Ayers), the mafia (Tony Rezko) or the true evils of his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright's church.Imagine if they had honestly and accurately conveyed the evils of the Obama administration's weaponizing of the IRS to be used against their political opponents or his running of guns to the Mexican cartels or the truth about the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the Obama administration's cover-up.
When President Trump said Monday at a campaign rally
in El Paso that, “We’ve actually started a big, big portion of the wall
today at a very important location, and it’s going to go up pretty
quickly over the next nine months," I assumed it was nonsense he was
spreading in hopes that his supporters might not mob him on stage for so
far failing to keep the central promise of his campaign.
He similarly said Tuesday at the White House, "We just started a big, big section [of wall] on the Rio Grande."
Despite massive gun restrictions rolling out across the country, for
the past two years, the number of concealed carry permit holders has
continued to soar. A study conducted at the end of last year showed that
the number of Americans licensed to carry a concealed weapon is now
over 17 million—a whopping 273 percent increase since 2007.
If we were to believe the rhetoric that more people carrying guns
would lead to more crime, there would be a correlation showing an
increase in crime among concealed carry holders. However, a study
conducted by the Crime Prevention and Research Center, which examined
these numbers, found the opposite.
What’s more, not only are concealed carry permits not committing
the crimes the anti-gun crowd would like us to believe, but the study
found cops are far more likely to commit crimes than permit holders.
Seven of 10 new students in a Baltimore-Washington area
school district are immigrants, their legal status unknown and their
second language English, according to a series of new media reports
about the impact of surging immigration on local communities.
A recent Baltimore Sun report said that of the 5,000 new students
jamming Baltimore County schools in the past five years, 3,500 are
“recent immigrants or children whose family speak another language.”
That has helped to double the percentage of students who speak English as a second language, part of a national trend.
You’d think they’d head home after they saw Baltimore.
One stated goal of the Green New Deal Resolution championed
by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is to “remove pollution and greenhouse
gas emissions from the transportation sector,” in part by increasing
“investment in high-speed rail,” “public transit,” and “zero-emission
vehicle infrastructure.” If the experience of Ocasio-Cortez’s own
campaign for the House of Representatives last year is any indication,
however, the transition would be a difficult one.
A review of disbursements by
the Ocasio-Cortez 2018 campaign reveals a clear inclination to choose
air travel over rail for long-distances and personal vehicles over
public transit for local trips.
Total disbursements to airlines totaled $20,490 to at least six
different carriers for at least 39 trips. Disbursements for rail travel
(Amtrak) totaled $3,147 for at least ten trips.
For short distance travel, the campaign utilized the car services Lyft,
Juno, and Uber to the tune of $14,288, while disbursements for the Metro
totaled $5,368.
During the rollout of the Green New Deal during the first week
of February, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s office released several versions of
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) about the Green New Deal. The version
provided to a number of news outlets, including NPR, lists goals of the Green New Deal movement. One of those goals:
“Totally overhaul transportation by
massively expanding electric vehicle manufacturing, build charging
stations everywhere, build out high-speed rail at a scale where air
travel stops becoming necessary, create affordable public transit
available to all, with goal to replace every combustion-engine vehicle.”
Provides $1.375 billion, or $4.325 billion less than the $5.7
billion the Trump administration requested, for a very limited 55 miles
of physical barrier that can only be placed along the southern border in
*only* the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
Contains language allowing only fencing designs in use as of 2017.
No funding for new border patrol agents above the current on board levels.
Does not fund the Administration’s request for joint detention facilities.
No funding for additional enforcement and removal field personnel.
1,200 new Customs and Border Patrol Agents (retain current levels)
The bill expands Catch and Release by reducing the number of border beds from 49,060 to 40,520.
No funding for
additional enforcement and removal field personnel. – that means no more
ICE agents to deport people already in the country.
Expands the
Alternatives to Detention program from 82,000 to 100,000… so instead of
housing family units at the border- they get moved into the interior
where they almost always stay in the country permanently.
Provides $40 million
for additional ICE staffing dedicated to overall ATD (Alternatives to
Detention) case management, particularly for asylum seekers… so no new
ICE agents, but money to ICE to help illegal aliens settle in a
non-detention center in the country.
The bill gives over $1 billion for the Smithsonian.
$3.4 billion in refugee assistance – $74 million more than last year.
$4.4 billion in international disaster assistance – $100 million more than last year.
Does not
eliminate any foundations that Trump wanted to get rid of including:
The Asia Foundation, the U.S. African Development Foundation, the
Inter-American Foundation, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
The federal government collected a record $1,665,484,000,000 in
individual income taxes in calendar year 2018, according to the Monthly
Treasury Statements for the year, which the Treasury finished publishing today with the belated release of the December statement.
Calendar year 2018 was the first full tax year after President Donald Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on Dec. 22, 2017.
The previous calendar year record for federal individual income tax
revenues was in 2017, when the Treasury collected $1,656,171,550,000 in
individual income taxes (in constant December 2018 dollars).
After fretting about whether she'd be
able to afford rent, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) has moved
into a luxury apartment building in the District of Columbia's Navy Yard
neighborhood, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.
Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the Democratic
Socialists of America, got a big raise with her election to Congress, a
job that comes with a $174,000 annual salary. She told the New York Times she was concerned about how she would get an apartment before that salary kicked in.
Protecting Wall Street Banks – After six years, the DoJ has not put a
single banker in prison over the economic collapse of 2008. While many
of the same banks were given slaps on the wrist for causing the housing
collapse a year earlier, many more banks were fleeced by the Justice
Department for billions of dollars in civil penalties, paid to the Dept
of Justice. In exchange for massive payoffs, no criminal charges were
ever filed against anyone and few victims among the American people ever
got their money back. Protecting Rogue IRS Employees – After countless acts of admitted
perjury by IRS directors and managers over the targeting of conservative
political organizations by the agency, and the revelations that all the
emails and computer records covering the time in question and all the
IRS employees in question, have all crashed and self-destructed, AG Eric
Holder still refuses to appoint a special prosecutor.

Two pension plans in Fairfax County, Virginia are anchor investors in a
new $40 million venture-capital fund, according to a statement from the
company. Other investors include an insurance company, a university
endowment and a private foundation, said Morgan Creek Digital founder
Anthony Pompliano, who declined to provide further details.
To summarize, according to Booker we have to stop eating meat because if
we don't the planet will get destroyed. Why you ask? Cow farts. I know
the cow fart theory has been around for some time; but honestly, how can
anyone claim this as a scientific fact with a straight face? Really,
the planet will be doomed because of cow farts? Uggh. Shame on us for
continuing to vote these idiots into office.
I am pretty sure there were a lot more animals on this planet prior to
us taking over every square inch of livable space. I am willing to bet
that humans release more farts into the air than the cows. Heaven forbid
some democrat figures that one out.

After two years and 200 interviews, the Senate Intelligence Committee is approaching the end of its investigation
into the 2016 election, having uncovered no direct evidence of a
conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, according to both Democrats and Republicans on the committee.
But
investigators disagree along party lines when it comes to the
implications of a pattern of contacts they have documented between Trump associates
and Russians — contacts that occurred before, during and after Russian
intelligence operatives were seeking to help Donald Trump by leaking
hacked Democratic emails and attacking his opponent, Hillary Clinton, on
social media.
A California-based federal appeals court on Monday sided with the
Trump administration in lawsuits brought by states and environmental
groups challenging the U.S. government’s authority to expedite
construction of barriers along the border with Mexico. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 ruling said the
Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 gives the
Department of Homeland Security broad authority to construct the border
barriers and waive environmental laws in the process. The ruling affirms a district court’s decision that allowed the
federal government to construct wall “prototypes” and replace 14 miles
of primary fencing near San Diego and replace similar fencing along a
three-mile strip near Calexico, Calif.
