U.S. house prices rose a seasonally adjusted 0.8% in April, the Federal Housing Finance Agency said Thursday. Prices for March were revised down to a 1.6% increase from an original reading of a 1.8% gain. In the past 12 months, prices have risen 3.0%, though they are down 17% compared to an April 2007 peak. FHFA data is based on sales information compiled by the large mortgage firms Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
