A
clash of generations -- 1 out of 6 Americans receiving Social Security
benefits. A larger share of workforce dominated by older Americans
It is hard to believe that 1 out of 6 Americans (over 61,000,000+)
are receiving some form of Social Security, SSI, or both. We are now
running deficits in this account for as far as the eye can see. It is
hard to predict many aspects of the market with certainty but this is
one item we can since few of us escape the progression of age. The issue
of course is we have an older population growing with a smaller and
less affluent work force.
