One telling stat of the recent recovery comes from a survey showing
that of the 3 million people that lost jobs from 2009 to 2011 with 3
years of employment history and found a new job, roughly half are making
less than they did before. You have a case of someone making $100,000+
for many years in Atlanta and then ending up on food stamps a few years
later. Or the story of someone making $70,000 and then losing it all
because of dramatic shifts in the economy. Not all jobs are created
equal and unfortunately, many of the recent additions in the employment
market have been in the low wage capitalism side.
