Net Takers versus Net Payers of Federal Taxes

Joe Weisenthal has put up a chart showing on a state by state basis, which states receive more in federal tax revenue than they pay in taxes and for which state it is the opposite. Of course, it would prove more interesting to see this on a job by job basis, comparing how many federal government employees, contractors and other beneficiaries  are in each state versus the private sector, but this is a start.

In the map, the states shaded blue pay in more than they get back.  Red states receive more than they pay in federal taxes.
