Joe Weisenthal
has put up a chart showing on a state by state basis, which
states receive more in federal tax revenue than they pay in taxes and
for which state it is the opposite. Of course, it would prove
more interesting to see this on a job by job basis, comparing how many
federal government employees, contractors and other beneficiaries are
in each state versus the private sector, but this is a start.

In the map, the states shaded blue pay in more than they get back. Red states receive more than they pay in federal taxes.
