Obama administration pondering plan to put armed police officers in public schools  - NY Daily News
The Obama administration is pondering a program to fund a police presence in public schools as part of its anti-gun violence package, The Washington Post reported Friday.
The possibility was raised by Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) in a meeting with Vice President Joe Biden — and she said that he appeared receptive to the suggestion.
“If a school district wants to have a community policing presence, I think it’s important that they have it,” Boxer told the Post.
“If they want uniformed officers, they can do it. If they want plainclothed officers, they can do it.”
