The seasonally adjusted Germany Construction Purchasing Manager

The seasonally adjusted Germany ConstructionPurchasing Managers’ Index® (PMI®) – a single figure snapshot of overall activity in the construction economy – fell to a ten-month low of 43.3 in
December, from 48.4 in November. That signalled the ninth straight monthly decrease in total building activity in Germany. There were substantial decreases in activity in all three of the sub-sectors monitored by the survey in December, with rates of contraction accelerating in
each case.
