 Kellogg Co. will close a plant in western Georgia and lay off more than 300 people as the Battle Creek-based company pushes forward with its four-year restructuring program.The company confirmed Monday about 325 jobs will be eliminated at its Columbus, Ga., plant — a former Keebler Co. facility — when it is expected to shut down by the end of 2015. The closure is part of its Project K, an effort that company spokesperson Kris Charles said in an email to the Enquirer will “unlock cost savings that Kellogg will invest in its strategy and grow its business.”
