Starts is the most important number as it's the progression from a permit, and it came in quite strong.
The dollar is higher by a few pips and up near today's highs as it trades 119.75 in USDJPY
The main jump in starts was prompted by demand for apartments and for rental apartments in particular. That's doubly good news as it means people are looking to invest
There was a big drop in starts in the Northeast last month (-33.7%) on the back of some tax changes going on. That's been countered somewhat by a 23.4% gain this month
