The Sentry Safe plant in Pittsford is closing and that will mean hundreds of layoffs.
The owner of the company plans to move out of state. A filing with the state department of labor shows Master Lock
plans to lay off 301 workers. That is scheduled to happen in stages
from January 29 to June 30. Master Lock bought Sentry Safe last year.
The security company said it plans to move most of its functions to
its existing locations in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and Nogales, Mexico.
