US Oct advance retail sales +0.1% vs +0.3% expected

  • Prior advance retail sales +0.1%
  • Ex autos vs +0.4% expected
  • Prior ex autos -0.3%
  • Ex autos and gas vs +0.4% expected
  • Prior ex autos and gas 0.0%
  • Control group vs +0.4% expected
  • Prior control group -0.1%
It's mostly weaker and the US dollar is down on the data but if you look at the control group, it's pretty close to expectations if you factor in the control group. But that number is easily fudged...

October overall retail sales growth would have been NEGATIVE without downward revision to September.

Overall retail sales

September (initial) ... $447.686 billion
September (revised) ... $447.031 billion

October (initial) ... $447.255 billion
