Senate passes government funding, tax break package
The Senate on Friday passed a bill to fund the government through Sept.
30, 2016, that also contains a host of tax breaks for corporations and
individuals. The $1.1 trillion funding bill now goes to President Barack
Obama for signature, along with a permanent extension of the
research-and-development credit and other tax breaks.
The legislation also lifts the ban on U.S. crude-oil exports and
postpones the "Cadillac tax" on expensive health-care plans for two
years. Senators voted 65 to 33 to approve the bill.
The other side of the scum bucket that is Congress.
