Illinois’ state revenue department does not
plan to release tax refunds before March this year as it works to
prevent fraudulent returns.
The agency said it plans to take longer to process refund paperwork as it tries to prevent fraud and identity theft, the Chicago Tribune reports.
No refunds will be released before March 1, and after that
electronically filed refunds will be issued within two to three weeks,
with paper returns taking longer.
But make sure YOU PAY on time, oh the hypocrisy.
