Baystate Health officials are hoping to secure an additional $10
million through the annual state budget process. If they do not get the
money, hospital officials say Baystate might have to lay off up to 200
employees.
"We're continuing to have financial challenges and experience
financial strain," said Jennifer Endicott, senior vice president of
strategy and external relations for Baystate Health. "If we're unable to
secure some bridge funding, we're going to have to look at continued
cost cuts across the board."
