Honestly, for one brief 90 second period this morning, as I watched Comey and listened intently, I actually felt that finally - FINALLY - everything that my family had taught us over the years about being AMERICAN, about goodness, living honestly, abiding by the law, literally bleeding pride in our country...that it all actually mattered. That it was all true, not manufactured, that we are indeed DIFFERENT and BETTER than all the third-world banana republics on the planet..

For 90 quick seconds I was reassured that we were blessed to live in a special country. A country of fairness, dignity and righteousness, all qualities that our relatives and forefathers fought and died to preserve, to protect and to defend. A country where NO MAN (or woman) is ABOVE THE LAW. It's what we were taught from literally day one.

For 90 seconds, as Comey outlined the treasonous ("intentional" or not) and inexplicable criminal transgressions by this absolutely despicable, condescending, liar, to put it lightly.. I actually found myself in an almost euphoria... that after all the years, all the "God Bless Americas" that we sang as kids, all the "America the Beautiful's" and "My Country Tis Of Thee" stuff we learned with our "hands over your hearts please, kids".. that it actually, definitely, certainly was true, all of it. All of it.

For 90 quick fleeting seconds, I said to myself and anyone within earshot  "Wow, they've got her. Finally!! They've got ALL THAT CRAP ON HER and Comey is going to recommend indictment!!...FINALLY!.. YES!!!

Then Comey paused, and said "However..."

I am simply out of words at this point,  I honestly felt like Iron Eyes Cody from the old "Please Don't Litter" commercial as he views his once great land being littered, polluted and completely SHAT UPON by so many of the current over-privileged inhabitants of it.

Old Iron Eyes turns to the camera, a tear rolling down his cheek in disappoint, sadness and, disgust... and while I'm definitely NOT surprised, I definitely feel like there easily could be a tear rolling down my cheek as get into my car and silently drive home now.
I'm literally without any more words right now. Literally speechless.

The Republic is truly lost.
