The Lame Stream Media strikes again!

The last week was marked by president-elect Donald Trump’s statement that all people who burn American flag should face certain consequences.

As soon as Trump tweeted his intention to make the act illegal, the public and media went berserk claiming that burning flag is protected by freedom of speech. Hence, punishing someone for setting the American flag on fire would be equal to banning the person from expressing their opinions, viewpoints, beliefs, and so on.

It’s safe to say that the same people who oppose Trump’s statement believe that Hillary Clinton would never do such a thing. But, would she? Of course, she would! Because she sponsored the bill herself! Back in 2005, the Flag Protection Act was a proposed US federal law introduced in the Senate at the 109th United States Congress. The bill was proposed by Bob Bennett and co-sponsored by Hillary Clinton.

In 2005 when Clinton wanted to do the same thing as Trump. She stated before ““So I hope, Mr. President, that we can pass a law that criminalizes flag burning and desecration,” Clinton stated. “I agree that this burning, this desecration that can happen to our flag is something that people have a right to ask this body to try to prohibit and prevent.

However, the president-elect is the one who’s branded as a dictator who doesn’t allow people to use freedom of speech. We can only expect that Trump will push the law that was in the works a decade ago and draw the line between freedom of speech and burning the flag, a symbol of the country.
