“I didn’t draw any policy conclusions from that,” she said. “I was not recommending a substantially easier policy.”
Torsten Slok, chief international economist at Deutsche Bank Securities, said Yellen’s comments “were the biggest wake up call” for bond investors.
“It is not the case that Yellen is always inherently dovish as many have been assuming in the market,” Slok said on Bloomberg Television.
